i ate KATONG LAKSA tdy:). i finished the whole bowl. yumms. it wasn't too oily (usually u see this layer of oil in ur laksa bowl) and there wasn't too much coconut milk (cos didn't feel bloated). and i love using a spoon to eat my laksa. no danger of spilling laksa zup all over ur top. yes. i was one of those dhs students who will stain her tie/white blouse when eating the sch's ytf stall's occasional laksa. lol. laksa makes me think of lor mee. for no solid reason. ahh. probably cos the same ytf stall sells lor mee occasionally as well. haha. and porridge too!! aww. my dhs fried wantons.
and after the laksa i went to this traditional place for some kaya bread and kopi=).
真美珍!last time when 紅屋 still existed, these were the two places for some traditional cakes, kopi and roti. i miss red house's tar sau roti)::.
kopi-C, teh-C (famous for their teh-C), 2 kaya roti (round white bread. there's also black bread which has raisins but isn't as suitable for kaya and gu you ie butter) @ 4bucks. :D
yes that is a slice of butter you see on the right side of the bread. DELIIIIISH:DD.
bought some of their small cakes home too. photos nxt time:). jio me if u feel like going to 真美珍 after seeing the roti photos. LOL. the kaya is superb too. not too sweet, and eggy:). imho, it's better than yakun's :).
