heyaa~
haven't blogged since the days before the last exam paper.. anyway there was a follow up to the incident of the old lady i saw in ws foodcourt. i was just talking about how unfortunate/underprivileged some old people in sg were, when i saw a very different set of old people in the same place the next day. there was this group of old people, old ladies and old men, sitting at the table next to me, drinking kopis and tehs, chatting merrily away.
OL (old lady)1's handphone rings (it wasn't the normal boring ringring/nokia tune but some oldie song).
OL1: Hallo? Ah! Where are you? [i presume it was her OL-kaki on the other line]
OLs and OM (old men) continue their chatter.
OL1: We all ah? At simei!
OL2: (corrects her) Aiyo. Pasir ris la! Whitesands.
haha.
i wonder if the same thing will happen to me when i grow old and no longer know the difference between simei and pr. HAHA. okay. maybe OL1 lives in the west side area. but hmmm i DO know the difference between say... jurong point and queensway shopping centre. ok. bad comparison. lol.
the group of old people finished their kopis and tehs and went off to their next destination [my long ears didn't catch the name of the place].
hmmmm. maybe this shows that our destinies are in our own hands. and this is the time when our parents will go, see, i told you, if you don't study hard, you will become a cleaner next time and still got to work when you are old.
wells.
maybe the old lady from the previous blog entry was 1) a poor old spinster with no children to support her. or 2) was a mother to unfilial children who left her to fend for herself. 3) a victim of a family scuffle for inheritance and her share was swallowed by evil sisters/brothers-in-law and children who conspired with their uncles.
yaya. my imagination is running wild.
sigh.

i want to use up the cream cheese in my fridge. i used only 1/5 of it for the cream cheese topping. and this recipe i'm going to try tomorrow (lemon cheesecake squares!) requires lemon curd.
and the recipe i found for lemon curd makes for 1pint aka 500ml. 0_0. i only need five tablespoons ie around 78ml of it. wells.
i think in the end i might just exclude the lemon curd.

my england is getting horrible.
one day i forgot the english translation of 口罩。on another day, i forgot the word "alcohol".
and today i almost typed "disclude" instead of "exclude".
ARGH.
