BOO!
it's friday~
alright. do days even matter much now? muha. from now till somewhere in jan 2009, everyday is like a friday. or a saturday. or whatever day you like best. :) hols are officially here.
GOT my exchange:). and it is sher's nanjing uni!! wheeee:D. but sem2's modules hv become a chore to arrange. i got quite disgusted poring over them. yikes. i think i'm scared of cl mods=S. hee.
okkay my days are filled up right till the 17th:). talk about being popular. lol. rather. it's more of, talk about being-in-a-holiday-mood-before-exams-ended, such that i kept bugging pple to go out with me:).

went to eat at YIH's munchie monkey's brownies with eve on tues and it was below average. very mediocre. hahha. and didn't appreciate the walnuts/pistachios in it. but fishie's MUSSELS in garlic and butter made up for the disappointing brownie:). i want to eat them again! i love the sauce.

baking cookies is a vvvvtiring job. it is vvtiring when you have to bake with 2 small kids. hahha. but i'm sure they enjoyed themselves:). baked two types on wednesday, drop and formed cookies. drop cookies were the choc chip macademia ones i baked before, formed was a new recipe i found. made the drop cookies myself cos i had a feeling the formed ones won't turn out too tasty. i was right!! the formed cookies didn't turn out yummy at all:(. but my sis brought ALOT of cute molds, hippopotamus, elephant, star, 4-leaf clover, dog, bear, heart, alphabet, gingerbread man. borrowed huge gingerbreadman and christmas tree molds from eve too. anyway. the formed cookie was chocolate cookies, so the dough was dark brown-black.
nephew: this looks like poo!
me: .
niece: mummy, pass me the dirt. i want to play.
my sis: darling, this is our cookie dough!
niece: dirt!
other than the molds, my nephew made his own baguette and danish pastry shaped cookies. lol. halfway through, my niece busied herself with making dough BALLS. at first she made this huge snowball. then my sis finally persuaded her to divide the huge snowball into big snowdrop sizes. and we coaxed her into passing us the dough balls to knead, roll flat and cut with the various molds. there was still around half the amount of dough remaining after around 2h of work, and it was around the kids' naptime, so my sis brought them home. i continued with the cookies and finished in half an hour.
i think i enjoy baking cakes more :). for any cake, just prepare the ingredients, mix them, send the uncooked mixture into the oven, wait for an hour or so, TADA, the product is out. for cookies, you have to keep sending the batches in. or i can cut down on the ingredients to make less cookie dough or make bigger cookies to save time.
i hope the chocolate cake for my mum's bdae will turn out fine :D.
