BOO~
back from tw!:):. (ambivalence. lol) i miss the weather!! although it was a little TOO windy at times, so much that my face and ears were vvcold. but it felt really good not to have sg's blazing hot sun shining down on your body and end up perspiring like a roast pig. i could even wear about 3 layers of clothes on the last day, which was the sunniest day of our trip.
anyway, the whole trip was really vvenjoyable. with alot of good food, good weather, good TV, good hotel, good shopping etcetc. HAHA. i'm a lazy bum. i totally can sit in the hotel room for the whole day, just surfing TV channels=p. hahah. no la. how can i miss out on all the FOOOOD. food was really the highlight of the trip. shopping for clothes was troublesome. and the clothes were not suitable for sg's humid weather, so i bought bags, shoes, accessories. haha. could have shopped for the clothes in preparation fr nanjing exchange, but i felt too lazy. i don't know which ones look warm enough for nanjing's autumn/winter. and the clothes look small. and okkay. i'm not a pro at slashing prices.
recounting day by day will be rather tedious, so i will do what i'm
best not so good at-- summarize. hehe. a good heading will be highlights^^
let me include some food photos for drooling: (appreciate, cos my darned internet is VVslow)

oyster omelette. this was sweeet! haha.the exclamation mark indicates my surprise. there were MANYMANY oysters. but alot of flour too.

for food, there were lanes and lanes of stalls. although some of the food look repetitive, with the usual suspects like oyster omelettes, 大腸包小腸,大餅包小餅,臭豆腐,滷味, it was still a vvexciting place to be in, with the crowd and smells and erms smoke. XD
after eating the oyster omelette, smelly tofu, 大腸包小腸, 豬血糕,紅油炒手,珍珠奶茶,刨刨冰,i finally saw the 雞排 stall. i ran for the stall. literally. omg. the stall name itself (豪大大雞排) was attractive. and the long queue confirmed its 好吃指數。i must say the 豬血糕 looked ultra suspicious with its charcoal black appearance, but i was bent on trying it cos i watched several korean dramas thereby the characters will be tucking into 豬血糕/豬血糕湯 with gusto.

the first bite was wondrous. the crispy batter, the chilli, the tender chicken. and the chicken cutlet was REALLY DAMN HUGE. humongous. it's twice-thrice the size of what they sell in sg. man. haha. and they sell it in ONE big piece, not cut up into bite size. somehow this increases the enjoyment. but the chicken was really abit too huge. we couldn't finish it!! i felt vguilty. haha.
okay at this rate i will never finish the blog post. more food coming up...

before going to 淡水 station, we stopped by 士林 station for a bite to feed our growling stomachs after visiting the National Palace Museum. this small eatery is called 八方雲集, and it sells 水餃,鍋貼,豆奶,花枝丸湯等等。the dumplings were sold at NT4-5.50 each! its famous flavour was curry dumplings, but we didn't try that. the 鍋貼s were rectangular in shape!! the dumpling skin was the usual round kind, but they stretched the skin out when they made the 鍋貼s. saw a group of workers making dumplings beside our table while eating:). the dumplings were YUMS.
after the
small bite half-lunch, we proceeded to 淡水. the station was swarming with people! i guess lots of locals visit 淡水 during weekends as well:). the sea breeze at 淡水was really vvvrefreshing:).

Look at how FAT the squid is.

拔絲-this was amazing:). the yam and friends were fried first, then covered by a thin layer of caramel. amazing concoction.

鹽酥菇~ shitake mushroom!! yummy.

smellier tofu! bt still not really vvsmelly. i thought it's supposed to smell like drains and rubbish but taste really good?
and NOOOOO. i didn't eat the ice cream! the tall one:(. no more space in stomach. (the one shown in 《惡魔》!)
we originally planned to take the cable car up to 貓空 (mountain area), but the cable car was under maintenance, so we took a bus instead. my new shoes were killing me so we stopped by this cafe for a while and the kind lady owner gave me a plaster:). we went on to walk further up to explore the nature, and later on we came back here again for tea and some snacks.

exterior of the cafe~ the whole cafe was decorated vnicely and had a cosy and homely feel to it. will post more photos of the interior next time^^

lunch: set meal- roast chicken and some side dishes~ rice was nice:). the meal had a vhomely feel to it:).
later on, for teabreak/dinner, we went to 鼎泰丰 (which is overrated and overpriced in sg) as it originated in tw. the service was excellent, and we spent SGD45 on 2 bowls of noodles, 2 plates of pork chop (at least 6 pieces), 一龍小龍包,一龍蟹粉小籠包,一龍糯米燒賣。muha.
we saw 八方雲集 again at 西門町~ 原來是連鎖店^^ but the things were slightly more expensive than the 士林站 outlet, dumplings priced at 5-6.5 each.

花枝丸湯!there were bits of chewy sotong in the sotong balls.

咖喱水餃(the yellow skinned ones)!we ordered them much to the disapproval of my mum. lol. turned out fine! ohh. forgot to mention earlier on that the chilli sauce rocks. it's a mixture of chilli and 豆醬(the dip sauce that goes well with steamed fish! teochews love it:) ).

this was vvvgood. the noodles are like our 黃面,but without the strong taste/smell, and much lighter in colour.

it's actually 大腸面綫. found this only on the last day, when we went back to 西門町 again. we spent a long time trying to look for this shop the day before, it turned out to be at the other end of 峨嵋街。this is a diedie must try. muhahah. look at the crowd around the shop. there are no seats in the shop, so everyone stands to eat. hoho. but it's worth it. standing outside the shop with your bowl of hot meesua, slurping down the meesua, drinking the hot soup, wwwwwaah,僅以一個爽字概括:DD.
and i should show a bird's eye view of all the things i bought:

(and missed out the 2 scarves i got at SGD5 each and a tie at SGD5)
all these add up to about SGD250~ shoes, accessories, bags, cup noodles, books, gloves^^
muha:DD.
